How much to ask for a design job?

How much to ask for a design job?

Did you know that you will get the least amount of money if you agree to be paid by the hour? Learn how much to ask for your creative work.

How much to ask for an architectural design project? For architectural designs, the best way to ask is to get a percentage from the construction costs, usually 2% to 20% percent is possible. The percentage depends on the size of the project; i.e. the smaller the project the higher the percentage, for example mega construction projects, grand real estate developments could be 2% to 10%, small institutional or government projects could be about 5% to 15% while large projects would be about 2% to 10%, commercial and hospitality projects could range from 2% to 10% and residential or small projects could go from 10 to 20%. As an architect never bill hourly, and ask for a percentage from the construction costs whenever possible. Cost per square meter or other variables are not a good idea either. Lump sum – single payment could be a possibility, but the highest profit will come if you get paid as a percentage of the project costs. How much to ask for an interior design project? The answer is usually 20% to 40% of realization or purchase costs. This model gives you the highest profit. Do not ask hourly fees. Sell by the total value lump sum or based on project cost. For each type of project also include errors and omissions 10% extra margin. How much to ask for an industrial design project? Ask for royalties. Ask from 3% to 15% depending on volume. 3-5% for high volume such as injection molded items, 7% for normal volume, and 15% for limited editions or low volume productions, royalty from the final sales price always, to be paid monthly.
